THE NEXT BIG THING and, no, I'm not talking about my hips!

It's time for a blog hop. This one starts out with a shout out to my Rose Sistah and fabulous author, Amie Louellen. Check out her blog and bog hop answers at
The rules for the blog hop are as follows:

****Give credit to the person/blog that tagged you
**** Post the rules for the blog hop
****Answer these ten questions about your current WIP (Work In Progress) on your blog
****Tag five other writers/bloggers and add their links so we can hop over and meet them.

Ten Interview Questions for The Next Big Thing:
What is the working title of your book? I have two I'm working on, but let's focus on JAZZBEAT OF SURRENDER since it's supposed to be finished, but isn't. I keep asking my agent to push it back on her reading schedule.
Where did the idea come from for the book? This is book three in The Red Hand Conspiracy series. All three books start out in Paris and then move to another European city. This one was to go to Berlin, but my heroine got in a snit and went someplace unescorted, only to be kidnapped by The Red Hand. So...looks like we're going into Syria. And believe me, I'm not too happy with Simone right about now. I wasn't planning on this. Now I have to take time out from writing to study Syrian geography, weather, buildings, etc. What I had planned on was a side-trip to a BDSM club and had researched the heck outta that scenario. You know...'cause I want to write the comedic scenes I'd envisioned with some authority. Now all that research might be wasted. Darn...
What genre does your book fall under? Romantic Suspense
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition? I'm not up on young actors/actresses names. An age thing, I suppose. But here is how I envision Derrek, my undercover German agent, and Simone, who runs a lotion and potion boutique in Paris.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?  Simone Reynard feels what a man can do, she can do, thus she's a use 'em and leave 'em kind of woman until one jazz muscian starts messing with her mind.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency? My agent is Dawn Dowdle of Bllue Ridge Literary. She's the best.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? I've been working on this since early spring. Everytime I hit a rough spot, I write a short story or novella. I've contracted two novellas and one short story while I've been working on this book.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? It's a romantic suspense with flashes of romantic comedy thrown in. So, I don't know. I hate comparisons...I always come up short. LOL
Who or What inspired you to write this book? The characters spoke to me, and when they speak, I listen.
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest? Derrek is a jazz musician as well as a German agent. I love a man who can close his eyes and wail out a sultry, slow jazz beat. And, don't you worry, we'll be making that awkward and hilarious sidetrip into a BDSM club. I didn't do all that research for nothing!!!

That was fun Vonnie! I'm so excited to see how many new Vonnie Davis books will be out for me to enjoy soon! Simone sounds like a woman who could give anyone a run for their money - including her creator! :) I'm looking forward to meeting her.
